Thanks to Mrs. L.H. Wiggins of Greensboro, North Carolina, this pineapple-banana-spice cake with cream cheese frosting became one of our most requested recipes. We still stand by Mrs. Wiggins’ original, indulgent creation.

Just give me the cake and skip the icing.
After seeing your recipe I have made it at least ten times. 😋 thank you for sharing
Always wanted to bake a hummingbird cake, but how do you catch those pesky little Hummingbirds 🤔
She made this cake wrong. The cake layers are too flat. Be sure to use self rising flour. Also notice that she drained the pineapple juice and didn’t add the pineapple juice to the recipe. The pineapple juice is what gives this cake flavor and makes it moist! Add every drop of juice from the can. The Southern Living recipe even tells you to add the pineapple juice undrained! I didn’t even watch the entire video after noticing this. Be sure to add some pecans in the batter. Not half or whole pecans just cup some up. Don’t use 3 cake pans. Use 2 nine inch cake pans. If you don’t have any order them from Amazon because they are very cheap.
