  1. I’m from NE Texas. My parents were both Kansas City, Missouri. They moved to. Arkansas when they married and later to Texas. When they first tasted southern food they thought they’d died and gone to heaven. Mother always cooked Texan first and southern next. She made most of these dishes and they were soooo very good. She made lots of jello dishes but never tomato aspic. Her fried chicken, Mac and cheese, tuna casserole and soup were legendary. I was in my forties before my fried chicken was as good as hers. This is a fantastic walk through “Memory Lane “ Thanks so much.❤❤❤

It was avocado cups tamales beans, and rice beans and potatoes, beans and potato beans and macaroni. It may have been a poor lives meals. But we never got sick. We never had diseases. We’ve never had to go see a doctor. tortillas lots of tortillas, lots of refried beans lots we were 10 children. It wasn’t until we got older. I’m already 68. Everybody is doing fine. I would say, our 40s maybe 50s something happened to our food lot of people are not even making it past 25 without getting a darn disease of some sort we need change in the pharmaceutical business, obviously we still have the same foods.
